Last year when October came around, I had a look for Halloween decorations as I normally do, but was disappointed by the majority of them. Most of the ones that are around seem tacky. As a pagan (with a combination of druid/nordic leanings), I get disappointed quite easily when Halloween decorations are not right, espeaically as it seems to be one of the few times of the year when a pagan can openly be one without having to worry what others think. So, I had a search for cross stitch patterns. Just Cross Stitch, a mag published in the US seems to be the best, though being in the UK, I have to rely on pdf copies mainly for that. As a result, most of the patterns I have are from Cross Stitcher, World of Cross Stitch and Cross Stitch Favourites. I found these Silhouette decorations of an Owl, a Haunted House, a Witch and some Pumpkins and Spiders in the same set.

The spiders aren't in the set, but from 2018's October issue of Cross Stitcher.

Update: I have made the Pumpkins into a little stuffed hanging decoration, and the spider have been stretched over mount-board and had a felt background put on them. The Pumpkins are finished (with a green velvet backing) but the spider needs a felt backing blanket stitched to it to hide the ribbon attachment and to give it some embellishment. I've yet to finish the Haunted House (I'm hoping to get it finished later on this week), or start on the Witch and Owl decorations.
Photos will come soon, hopefully!
